Recently I met with Rick Breden, founder of the Essentials Method and a trained clinical psychologist, to discuss the possibility of forming a strategic partnership between OSHC and his firm, Essentials LLC. The purpose of this partnership is to develop assessment tools for candidates in the various health care disciplines to improve our ability to make matches and to assess retention potential. We have already begun benchmarking core competencies in various disciplines, e.g. clinical pharmacists.
Soon you will see an additional tab on our website labeled "Assessment" leading to a page that will explain the Essentials Method and the ways in which it will enhance our recruiting process. Candidates will log on to the Essentials test on this page and take it on-line. The results will be sent by email to the candidate, the recruiter, and to the potential employer.
We are aware of only one other recruiting firm (not in the health care space) that is offering assessment to their clients as part of the placement process. This added value item will improve our brand in the marketplace and communicate to our clients that we have their best interests at heart. In addition, we will be offering benchmarking of corporate culture and the top performers of our better clients to improve both placement and retention with their companies.
Dozens of assessment tests are available and used by HR departments nationwide. No assessment currently in use has more credibility than the Essentials Method. It has been the subject of more than 700 white papers and has been determined by the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the National Council on Measurements in Education to be among the most accurate and reliable instruments in existence.
